Memorial Day Weekend: Part 1!
It was insanely hot back here on the East Coast for it only being May. I was talking to my one buddy who pointed out that it truly just jumped from winter to summer without the smallest sign of spring. The crew spent the whole weekend out in the sun. The Tom Wallisch Memorial Day Railjam was on Sunday with Ashley V taking home first and Allie Mundy in second for the girls!

Insane Heli Shots from some Idaho Friends
Jonas and Ivan Marcinko hailing out of Blackfoot, Idaho have been absolutely killing it with their RC Aerial Cam.
Basically, they mount a DSLR video camera onto a remote controlled helicopter and use these crazy goggles to see what their filming. We've worked with them at Windells, and this year they did a bunch of work with Sandbox films up in Canada. Peep this video and hopefully we can expect some shots from Snowbasin next season...

Windells Shout Out
Chase Weaver is our new head digger, and he's super rad. This summer we've got a ton of new rails that are looking prime, plus the snow is 15-20% higher than average which means less hiking for later sessions. Boom!
But don't take my word for it, check out Windells' Website and get a sneak peak at some of the features and some special offers. Stay tuned for some cell phone pics of the new rails.

Jordan is just one of those kids who kills it at snowboarding and has a super humble attitude about it! His style is amazing and he has so many tricks on stock that most of us wish we could do. So enjoy his 2011 footage and remember its a Ruff World out there! YAY DC

Jordan Miconi DO YO THANG!
Here is Jordan Miconi's compilation of footage from his year living in Ogden and working park crew at Powder Mountain. Not only is Jordan an insanely good rider, he's one of the funniest human beings any of us have ever met. Who else would find an old board in the woods, decorate it in artwork, name it Ruff Rider, and then ride it ALL YEAR LONG. Jordan Miconi would.

Indecision 2011
It's time to vote, and since the community of active snowboard voters is very small, your vote will ACTUALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. So, without further adieu, here is the link to Strap'd Up's $500 Best Individual Edit.
Oh, and my vote goes to Jordan Morse, kid deserves it. There are some other homies up there, but if your not going to watch all ten videos anyway just vote for him.

Prize Fighter Cutlery
PFC put out a good video that captures the best part of skateboarding, fun. Although its filmed in HD (vx would be just as good), this video is still great. No absurd amounts of slow-mo's, tech ledge dancing/carcass tosses, or heinous music, just skateboarding at its funnest. Make sure to check out all four parts!

Twixtor ?
Twixtor is wild plug in for AE and FCP that allows one to take a 60fps video and slow it down to 1000fps or higher! The plug-in is hard to work with, but if figured out the right settings for the shot, you can get some amazing footage. At this moment in time I am working on a video using Twixtor and it should be up soon. For now you can watch this video of some BMX Twixtor Status. Video Blows my Mind!

The park shoot for Travis Rice's new flick got off to a rough start. Before the heli was filming, Seb broke his ankle on a 'warm up' double back rodeo. They still sessioned, and will continue shooting this week, and some tricks were landed that may or may not rhyme with 'ripple'

Strait Up Stealing Blogs
Since nothing worthy of reporting goes on in Idaho around this time, I'm putting all of my blogging efforts toward becoming the most notorious blog-stealer out there. Today, I've chosen a great post from ESPN's (or should I say EXPN) snowboard blog following Travis Rice, Scott (no-y) Lago, and Frends at their private shoot in Aspen.
A few good photos and a quick preview is all that's shown for today, but expect updates throughout the week if any crazy new quad corks go down because Toots, McMore and Willet just joined the party.

Our homie Mitch is young and killing it on his snowboard! This year Mitch moved out to Utah to dabble his feet into some of what the Wild Wild West has to offer.. and it seems as if Mitch took full advantage of all there was to be offered. Here is his video part for the 10/11 season.. also some of the shots will be in our very own video .. "Hit the Lights"
Board Fixin' Season
It's the end of the regular season, and with that comes broken boards, shattered egos, and the coming of summer snowboarding. So before I make my way out to Oregon, I started on a few projects to fix up some boards that I beat up during the season.
Board #1
DC wood core prototype 153
Loved it, and it saved my life. Took a hard fall on a handrail-caught on a 270, landed on my neck on the rail, hit stairs, hit the other rail, and ended up at the bottom in a daze. I was fine, but the board took the hardest impact and was un-rideable as you can see.

I tried to hammer it back in, but it wasn't going anywhere and ended up as some dorm room art for the rest of the season. Once I got home, it was time for a fixin'
After pulling the edge out and tweaking it back to shape, we hammered it into the core and with some help from gorilla glue and these vice grips, it set in nicely.
Fixed! Board is now ready to ride again with some minor defects.
Vice grips are really strong, check out those new dents.
Board #2
DC Tone 149
Verdict: Edge broke while hitting a knobbed rail. Edge was completely ripped out while firecracking said rail's stairs.
The chunk was big enough to scare me away from using the board any longer this season. But besides this and the base damage from stair rides, the board is fine.
P-Tex to the rescue. First, I dulled the edge around the breaks to make it less catchy. Then with a razorblade I shaved off the bump from the compressed edge to get it as smooth as possible. Finally I went to The Nayborhood where the owner Chris had some P-Tex sticks and we filled in the core shot. Thanks Chris!
2 boards fixed and ready for summer shredding.

My buddy Jason Parry is a becoming quite the entrepreneur these days. Anyway, here's a video of Nike SB that I stole from his blog. Check it out HERE.
