CHEATERS
AS MUCH AS I LOVED THE ART OF FLIGHT, THEY CHEATED.
And as much as I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, I can't look past what I'm seeing here.
1. FRONT DOUBLE 10 OVER MOSQUITO CREEK GAP
This thing is huge, and the though of trying that trick on it blows my mind. But if I were to try it, I sure as hell wouldn't do it on my 4th drop - but that's what it looks like in the movie.
After a series of bails, Travis nuts up and sends a double 10 in flat light conditions that looks overshot and over-rotated. But when it cuts to the landing, it's sunny once again and he stomps in an awkwardly high spot on the landing that didn't quite seem to match his trajectory.
I'm no physics major, but anyone that snowboards can see that this doesn't make sense.
Takeoff Shots
And the movie shows this as his landing:
Only 3 tracks in the landing, and it's sunny out, AND he lands high up on the landing in a different position than the other angle.
HERE'S MY THOUGHT.
In the montage of wrecks on this jump, one looks strikingly similar to the takeoff angle of the front double 10. Here are those shots
2. MARK LANDVIK, FRONT DOUBLE 10 TUCKNEE
I didn't question this until recently, and props to Curt Morgan for fooling everybody so well. But he didn't cover his tracks. Here are the screengrabs of Landvik's front 10 double as shown in the movie, and then watch the Anon Optics commercial with Landvik and see what you think.
Landvik's shot is at 1:13

HBS weekend at Woodward
Fashionably late, as usual. Most of you are this close to being in the Christmas spirit and here comes a little piece of Halloween... all over again. Whether you partied a little too hard, or got a little too hopped up on sugar, I think we're all okay with watching it come and go and cycling through the rest of the holidays before welcoming it back next year. But we're going to back track for just a second...
It's late October and since the summer months the Head Board Shop crew had been hearing of this mythical creature otherwise known as a free weekend at Woodward, compliments of Pittsburgh photographer Alex Papke and the Woodward guys, Dave Metty,
Jeffery Brockmeyer and Maverick.
We all received the call a few days before the weekend and dropped everything to make the trek from Pittsburgh, PA to the center of the state. Naturally some of us had to sacrifice Halloween plans to do so but I don't believe any of our plans mattered enough to turn away from the mythical creature that was: Head Board Shop's weekend at Woodward. Even Josh Radko, who was diagnosed with mono the morning of the trip didn't miss a beat. So while you reminisce on your past Halloween excursion, let us show you how we spent ours...

Evan Smith
Congrats local Pittsburgh shredder Evan Smith for taking third at Tampa Am. I'm reposting this sketchy youtube clip of his runs as it was the only thing I could find. Tell em you saw it the second time at WhatCoast.com!

Head Board Shop comes to Johnstown
This past weekend, the crew from Head Board in Pittsburgh (AKA Nuge Crew) made a trip out to our little old Johnstown, PA for some shred action. Needless to say, friendships were made, fires were built, shredding ensued, and good times were had by all in attendance. Sessions like these ones are the best! Now enough chit chat, and on with some photos!
And I though I'd round out this post with a true banger. Radko hittin' this 360 flip crooked grind! It doesn't get more laced than this!
Why not start off with a banger!? Rullo & Radko were straight killin' it with these dual frontside airs. Sequence and alternate angle of this shot can be found below.

Bringing In December
What's good peeps? It's been about 2 weeks since I dropped a post on here, and after today's sesh, I really felt the need to make one. SPOILER ALERT: Can you say doubles in the mini? Haha. Anyway, old man winter is getting ever closer, so this very well may be one of the last blue bird day sessions we get. Enjoy!
